2026 Monsoon Writing workshop 

ANHS 2026 MONSOON WRITING WORKSHOP

The ANHS is organizing an online writing workshop scheduled for the fall of 2026. This educational program is specifically designed for graduate students from Himalayan nations, who could be living in the region or elsewhere.

Led by experts Dr. Thomas Robertson and Dr. Dhirendra Nalbo, the curriculum covers essential academic skills such as structural organization, the ethical use of AI, and effective argumentation. Participants will engage in practical exercises and receive peer feedback throughout several sessions to refine their scholarly prose. Interested applicants must submit their materials by the July 31 deadline to be considered for this professional development opportunity.

Who Can Apply?

Graduate students from Nepal and other Himalayan countries, whether currently based in South Asia, North America, Europe, Australia, or elsewhere. ANHS membership is not required, though preference may be given to members.

Facilitators

Dr. Thomas (Tom) Robertson Environmental historian, former Director of Fulbright Nepal/USEF, and faculty member at Macalester College. Creator of Mitho Lekhai writing videos and contributor to numerous publications on Nepal and environmental history. 

Dr. Dhirendra Nalbo (Bio to be added)
